Oh no!

There are a few things to do for next time so it doesn't hurt so much -- don't wash your hair the same day as your retightening. Take an Advil (ibuprofen.) And INSIST that your hairdresser not do it so tightly! It's your hair, and your money.

Hmmm...

Just to offer another POV...

There are some things I could do myself that I pay people to do (like my hair or clean my bathrooms) and some things most people pay for that I always do myself (like my eyebrows). I guess it depends on how much we like these activities, how well other people can do them, and the value of our time. Like, it's cost-effective for me to get my hair done if I can work while it's being done, yet, no one does my eyebrows to my satisfaction, so I might as well do a less-than-perfect job myself for free.

That said, I was *shocked* by the price of getting my hair done in Jamaica, so if I were to live my life in J, and not US dollars, I would probably do my hair myself.

Okay, I'm rambling now. I hope you don't mind!

That's interesting. In Jamaica, most people do not think I am a Rasta, but perhaps because it was pretty clear I was a tourist because of the areas I was in (and, okay, maybe my clothes too).

In the US, people don't make the association either about me either, but more because they don't know about Rastafari. Ditto for Japan.

Ugh. Having people demand to know your religion all the time must be getting on your nerves.

I think people without locks think locks are dirty because they don't shine too.
